‘War on Terror’ news articles and threads controlled by Pentagon?
by Tony Muga aka: Hatrick Penry
It wasn’t that long ago that Hillary Clinton was asking for help to fight the ‘information war’, or if translated properly the ‘propaganda war’, for it takes an immense amount of lies and deception to keep America entangled in a war without end, a war for corporate profits, not peace. It takes full-spectrum control of media: TV, Newspapers, and internet articles. It takes control of the mainstream media, the ‘alternative’ media and much of the independent media.
Control of information is critical, but control of information is not always enough. The very thoughts and feelings of the American public must be shaped and molded to the will of the power-elite. The war on terror is violent one, as all wars are, and a violent population that has little or no respect for life is much more likely to support such a war. Simply writing a deceptive piece of propaganda is not enough. A bit of social programming is in order. ‘Thou shall not kill’ must become ‘Thou shall not kill unless we’re talking about terrorists’. Here’s how it works:
1) The AP or Reuters, both controlled mainstream outlets of the 1st rank, are tasked with producing a particular news article on the ‘war on terror’.
2) The article itself is deceptive: the truth is stretched and important facts are omitted. Censors ensure that the piece meets the needs/parameters of the Pentagon. For example: The article informs readers about how dangerous the Taliban is and how we must deal with them militarily, but the article fails to mention that the Taliban was created by the United States and Zbigniew Brzezinski. After digesting the article, the reader will not have all the facts needed to make an informed decision.
3) Several things happen the day the article runs:
A: a team of living, breathing propagandists, tasked with controlling the comment thread of the article, is on duty throughout the course of the day, responding to comments from the opposition. Ad hominem attacks are standard when you can’t argue the facts so expect to see plenty of vitriolic rhetoric here.
B: computer software acquired by the Pentagon injects simple one or two sentence statements into the comment thread section of the article. The comments are randomly chosen from a generic list of statements that could apply to any ‘war on terror’ thread but note that the comments are always of a derogatory nature and always vilify the ‘enemy’. Once you know what to look for, you will find the war on terror threads, unlike any other, are filled with fake comments from fake internet accounts. Here are a few examples:
4) A careful study is made of people’s reactions and rebuttals so propagandists can custom-tailor future comments and articles in order to better, as Hillary Clinton once said, ‘sway public opinion’.
It’s not just in the mainstream threads that this level of deception and control are going on. I’ve noticed that within the ‘alternative media’ this is also a big problem. I have discovered that certain alternative media personalities utilize multiple online profiles to ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ YouTube videos and to stage multiple bogus comments under different names. They can, and often do, delete comments when they are not to their liking. You’d be surprised at just how common these tactics are. They don’t want you to know that others are thinking like you.
Please consider how all this can cause someone to have a false perception of reality, especially as far the thoughts and opinions of other Americans are concerned. Many will assume the comments are genuine and that perhaps they are in the minority and should reconsider their stance on the so-called ‘war on terror’. No one likes being left out, and peer pressure is a very powerful force. Do you see how effective this strategy can be?
“Trust your feelings, Luke”, isn’t that what Obi Wan said? Well that is my advice to you dear reader, trust your feelings, not some bogus comment from a fake user profile online. If you have the facts, don’t let anyone sway you without offering new information that counters the information that led you to that particular conclusion. Furthermore, being aware that this type of deception is taking place is a big help to countering it. You can’t fight a monster you don’t know is there. It’s really that simple.
